  2. Confirmation of Minutes of November 27th, 2007 Meeting:

  3. Confirmation of Accounts:

  4. Committees and Delegations: None in attendance.

  5. Report of Committee:

    1. Youth Centre: Councilor Patricia Bodick reported that further planning of the “Family Movie” night will take place once confirmation is obtained from Northern College that the equipment can be used by the centre.

    2. Larder Lake Ski Club: Councilor Patricia Bodick reported that a cook has been hired for the canteen at the chalet. She also reported that the tentative date for the 2008 Ski Season to open is December 26th, 2007.

    3. Larder Lake Skating Rink: Councilor Patricia Bodick reported that a rink attendant has been hired subject to the acceptance of the required Police Check.

    4. Gardening & Decorating Committee: Councilor Patricia Bodick reported that an application has been received from an individual who is interested in holding the position of municipal gardener for the township. The individual will be contacted to confirm the acceptance of his application.

      Councilor Patricia Bodick reported that the Gardening & Decorating Committee will continue to meet in 2008. She thanked the group for their contribution of the Christmas Decorations that have been placed to adorn the township office and the many other areas in the downtown core.

    5. Food Drive and Annual Children’s Christmas Party: Reeve, John Roddick reported that the annual food drive that was held on December 5th, 2007 was a huge success with many donations of food being received. He also reported that the drive to collect financial donations has also been very successful. He wished to thank the many individuals who participated in the collection of food and funds as well as the many citizens who donated so generously. The reeve also suggested that any donations made to the Annual Children’s Christmas Party that exceed the cost of the 2007 party should be set aside for the 2008 Annual Christmas Party. The entire municipal council was in agreement with the suggestion. It was reported that the Christmas Food Baskets will be delivered the evening of Wednesday, December 19th, 2007.

  6. Communications and Letters:

    1. Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley
      The Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley requested that the Township of Larder Lake send a letter to the Ontario Fire Marshall requesting that the training fees required for any training that is initiated by the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office be waived and the training be provided free of charge.

      That the Council for the Township of Larder Lake send a letter to the office of the Ontario Fire Marshall requesting that the Ontario Fire Marshal cover the cost associate with training and workshops should new fire safety legislation be initiated.
