The Building and the Opening of the Tourist Information Centre

A 'Make Work Project' plus volunteers made this possible, August 2000. Rough hewed logs were threaded onto steel rods embedded in the cement foundation. Town foreman Howard Allin oversees the work in progress. Window openings and the ends of the logs are notched to fit in the corners.

Clark Thompson's permanent display- a 100 picture retrospect of the town of Larder Lake Permanent display on the upper level - an office desk, perhaps from a local mining office. The Larder Lake Tourism Building was the location for a book signing 'A Mother's Heart' by Nicole F. McKnight, 08/27/04. FINISHED! A replica of the original Mining Division Office .

The Tourist Information Centre is on the Move

March 24th 2007, the building was prepared to be moved to a new location. The building, on skids was pulled and pushed to Hyw 624/Ontario Street. The building waited at the corner of Hyw 624/Ontario Street for several weeks. Utilities help to lift the power lines.
The building has been moved across Hwy. 624. A few nudges to set the building onto the cement pad. Waiting for utility hookups.
